Pohonduit88 Carrera Slot Car Buyer’s Guide

Carrera slot https://www.casaffare.com/ cars were started in the 1960s in Germany by Josef Neuhierl. Since its inception and surviving the years when slot car racing lost its popularity, it is now one of the biggest slot car manufacturers with a wide range.

It is not as popular as it was in the 60s and 70s but is becoming more popular again. There are 2 reasons for this –

(a) parents buying sets for their children perhaps remembering the fun they had and

(b) increased innovation and standards. With Carrera’s wide range of products, they meet the needs of beginners as well as those of experienced riders.

In this article my main focus is to introduce you to the traditional or analog sets made by Carrerz.

There are two types of slot cars in Carrera’s current lineup digital and analog. Analog cars and tracks like the ones you’ve raced on in the past – are where you race cars around a race track in slots that basically run parallel to each other. That’s just one car per slot. Digital devices can give you the opportunity to race up to 8 cars in just a 2-lane track as cars can switch lanes to pass your competitors. By utilizing the latest digital technology, you can race others over the internet, create programs at pit stops, yellow flag, and configure speed settings depending on skill and experience levels.

Two analog models are available:

Carerra Go Range.

These products are made to meet the needs of children. This set is recommended for children above 8 years old. However, you can read a number of reviews that parents think they are suitable for younger children.

They are 1:43 scale, meaning they are relatively small so they don’t take up too much space when assembled. Some of the sets include Disney Cars 2, Dune Buggy Action, Spongebob, NASCAR Talledega etc,

Evolution Range

The manufacturer explains the set is suitable for teens, adults and enthusiasts with a minimum age of 8 years.

The set includes a 1:32 scale car slot win 88 and a 1:24 scale size track that allows plenty of room for drifting and sliding around corners. The set includes a track with 2 slots as standard but can be expanded to 4,6 or 8 slots wide. The nice-looking paint job is created using a process called tampo molding. The slot game has 5 sets to choose from including Racing Legends, Grand Prix Masters, Disney Pixar Cars 2 World Grand Prix, etc.

Both ranges come with a wide variety of accessories and the tracks can be expanded for longer racing circuits. As more interest is developed, you can add to the starter set.

You need to determine first whether you will be buying a set to decide which one is right for you. If you’re looking for a child and you’re not sure of their overall interests, the Go range is worth a look. A good introductory set can be purchased for less than $100. The Evolution range is worth considering if you’re buying a set for someone already interested in racing or perhaps for yourself.
